Mark Your Calendars

The official opening of Visions of the Universe is Monday April 13th. On Tuesday April 14th at 7:30 pm, Mike Reisch from Earthaven Museum will be speaking at the Library on meteorites. He will talked about how to identify them and show us some of his meteorites. There will be a drawing for a meteorite at the program. Mike also has a display in the hallway display case this month on meteorites. Tuesday's at 10:30 begins Space Story Hour at the Library. We will travel to the moon, meet a few aliens, and dream about stars. Friday April 17th will be Armchair Astronomer night. We will have a Blast Off party Open House followed by a movie. Bring the whole family. Space Buddies will be shown at 7:00pm. Saturday the 18th we begin afternoon hours. The Library will be open from 9:00 to 3:00. On Sunday we will be open from 12:00 to 3:00. On April 20th will be Star Gazing with Paul Erdman from UW-Marinette at twilight. We will meet at the Library and caravan out to Bill Kamke's game farm for the evening. If you have a telescope or binoculars, please bring them. We will also be using the naked eye and I have a feeling of a lot of finger pointing! If weather is cloudy or rainy, we will meet Tuesday night at the library. Wednesday night April 22nd, will be Bob Brown from the Oneida Nation telling us Native American stories about the stars and moon. There are more events planned. But mostly, stop in and see the wonderful exhibit provided to us from the American Library Association, Space Telescope Institute and NASA. 2009 is the International Year of Astronomy.
