Off to a Good Start

Visions of the Universe has blasted off to a good start at the Oconto Falls Community Library. Many elementary school and middle grade students have stopped in for a visit, story hour and craft. Some events planned are May 9th is Rocket-Paloosa at 1:00 at Pleasant View Park. Chris Anderson and his students from the High School Science Club will build and launch rockets, make craters and build edible space shuttles. There will be craft projects to take home. The event is planned for outside. If it is rainy or very dry the event will be moved to the Library. On May 12th, Dave Grignon from the Menominee Nation will be speaking at the Library from 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 16, will be Paper Airplane Day at the library. Plan on coming at 1:00 to build and fly planes with Cherie. On May 19th, Dan Kalgren from UW Marinette will be speaking on the Copernican Revolution, The Origins of Modern Scientific Astronomy at 7:00 p.m. Mark your calendars.The Library wishes to thank our local sponsors for their support of the program. Without their financial support our Visions would be considerably smaller.Even though we are busy with the exhibit, the Library has kept up with the new releases.
